Long Beach Meditation

Please include the following information with your payment:

•Name
•Phone
•Email address
•Snail mail address
•The date of the retreat

The $50 fee is refundable (less a $5.00 administrative charge) up to one week before the retreat. After that date, your fee cannot be refunded. Ann is our retreat coordinator. She is in charge of taking reservations and doing the behind-the-scenes preparation. Please email her with your questions.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE: There are no steps and the zendo, kitchen and restrooms (including a private unisex bathroom) are located on ground level. Parking in the lot is abundant and close to the entrance.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We want everyone to attend our retreats because we value the experience of communal silence and self-investigation. We offer financial assistance to those who wish to join us, but are unable to pay all or part of the fee. Please email Victor so we can reserve a space for you.

YOGA WAIVER: We ask that you sign a standard yoga waiver at the retreat. Anyone who chooses not to participate in the yoga sessions or is uncomfortable signing this waiver, is welcome to sit with us at the retreat, and do other forms of meditation during the yoga sessions. You may request a copy of this waiver.

BE A VOLUNTEER: It takes the effort of many people to keep our retreats running smoothly. If you would like to sign up for a "yogi job," such as room set-up, greeters, transporting cushions from the Unity Church (and back again), setting up coffee and tea, bringing munchies and flowers (you are reimbursed for expenses), please contact Ann . We deeply appreciate your help and participation.

PLEASE BRING:
• Your own lunch. There is a refrigerator to store your goodies. Coffee, tea and munchies are provided.
• Your own sitting gear and yoga mat. We have limited cushions, but there are
chairs available for non-floor dwellers. The floor is linoleum.
• A cherished item to place on our altar during the retreat, if you'd like.

It's helpful to wear loose-fitting clothes and shoes that are easy to slip on and off. An extra wrap like a blanket or shawl keeps us warm during the sits. Please don't wear scented perfumes and remember to turn off the electronics, like cell phones. It's a real attention grabber when hot salsa music from a cell ringer shakes up the silence.

DIRECTIONS: You can get to Rancho Palos Verdes by accessing either Crenshaw or Hawthorne Blvds. Head up the hill and make a right on Palos Verdes North (and drive towards the ocean). Just past Hawthorne Blvd, make a left turn at the stop sign, which is Silver Spur. About a half mile up the hill, make a right at the first traffic signal, on Montemalaga. The church is located on the right side of the street. There is ample parking in the lot. Please note: Long Beach residents can access Palos Verdes Drive North, from Anaheim Street.
