OUR TEACHER-LED SANGHA practices Vipassana—a time-honored method for developing  mindfulness and concentration. We have on-going instruction in sitting and walking meditation, along with dharma talks and open discussions. Everyone is welcome to practice meditation with us, from beginners to experienced practitioners.

We have weekly sits, one-day retreats and other special events.  As a non-sectarian group, embracing Krishnamurti's view that "truth is a pathless land," we explore the different schools of Buddhism along with the Upanishads and the teachings of modern Masters, such as Nisargadatta.  We have benefited greatly from our practice and mutual support for each other in our conscious intention to wake up.

Our guiding teacher, Victor Byrd, Psy.D, has studied and practiced yoga (both Hatha and Jnana), Zen and Vipassana for over 30 years, and is in private practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Long Beach, California.  The interplay of Western Psychology with Eastern thought defines his approach to teaching meditation.
