All Day Saturday Retreat

Led by our guiding teacher Victor Byrd

In addition to our weekly sits, Long Beach Meditation provides an opportunity for a deeper more intensive meditation experience at our All Day Saturday retreats in a beautiful meditative setting in Rancho Palos Verdes.

We alternate sitting and walking meditation and eat lunch in silence. There is an afternoon dharma talk, followed by a gentle yoga session with emphasis on mindfulness to the body and movement. We conclude with the chant of lovingkindness and close in a talking circle for those who wish to stay.

Continuing Education Units: LBM is an Education Provider for MFT’s and LCSW’s, offering 6 CEU’s for full attendance at an All Day Retreat. There is an additional fee of $10 (to be paid at the retreat). Please contact (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), our Continuing Education Coordinator, for details.

Financial Assistance: We want everyone to attend our retreats because we value the experience of communal silence and self-investigation, and sharing the dharma is the essence of dana (generosity). We offer financial assistance to those who wish to join us, but are unable to pay all or part of the fee. Please (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) so we can reserve a space for you.

Yoga Waiver: We ask that you sign a standard yoga waiver at the retreat. Anyone who chooses not to participate in the yoga sessions or is uncomfortable signing this waiver, is welcome to do sitting or walking meditation during the yoga session. You may request a copy of this waiver.

Be a Volunteer: It takes the effort of many people to keep our retreats running smoothly.
If you would like to sign up for a yogi job, such as being a greeter or helping set up the meditation hall, please contact (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) who is our retreat coordinator. Patricia will also answer any questions you have about the retreat.

Directions: You can get to Rancho Palos Verdes by accessing either Crenshaw or Hawthorne Blvds. Head up the hill and make a right on Palos Verdes North and drive toward the ocean.
